Mandy Ryan loves being a massage therapist and has a passion for working with women, children and families. She likes helping people to identify and achieve their personal goals for wellness whatever their stage in life.
In addition to her skills in myofascial release, trigger point therapy and deep tissue massage techniques, Mandy also has advanced training in manual lymphatic drainage that can help relieve pre- and post-surgical conditions such as edema. She has the ability to treat a wide variety of conditions ranging from overuse injuries and chronic pain to acute sprains and some post-surgical procedures.
Mandy has also been trained in prenatal massage and post-natal massage and has a mobile massage business with Soma Studio Therapist Kaely Sandbeck called Wild Plum that provides pregnancy massage at the hospital and at home.
Mandy has had long experience working with families in child and youth development and is currently working towards a bachelors degree in health science in developmental psychology at Thompson Rivers University. She also plans to complete her doula training to improve her skills in assisting women in childbirth, and to study self-hypnosis as a pain-management tool through the child birthing process.
In her spare time, Mandy loves being with her friends and family enjoying music, cooking vegetarian food, walking the seawall, and laughing … a lot! She also plays the piano and saxophone and does some drumming.
Mandy graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2008.
