Alison McKenzie, RMT

Alison McKenzieAlison has been inspired by movement for her entire life. Growing up as a dancer, she thrived on expression and creating. A natural transition into the world of yoga occurred as a young adult, alongside the pursuit of studying holistic healthcare. After graduating from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition she immersed herself in her education of massage therapy, simultaneously balanced by a deeper exploration of Yogic philosophy. Fascinated by the connection and complementing nature of Eastern and Western based models of wellness, she fuses her training and knowledge of both worlds in her life and practice.

Alison is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, where she was recognized for a body of research on skeletal dysplasia. Alison approaches each treatment holistically and individually through the use of myofascial release, trigger point release, deep tissue, Swedish massage, muscle energy technique, progressive relaxation, and breath work. She is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, working with clients to discover and understand their body’s unique design, and empowers optimal wellness through natural nutrition. Alison is committed in her work and life to promote balance, compassion, and aims to help the body remember its innate wisdom and purpose.
